The federal government has overstepped its constitutional authority for years, and the American people have allowed them to do it. Now it is the job of “We the People” to rein them back in. Our elections have become selections, so thinking we can “vote the bums out” is no longer feasible.

However, we do have legal state-level options for a peaceful solution to a federal government that oversteps its authority. Nullification and the Anti-Commandeering Doctrine are both viable tools.

Although our state doesn’t need legislation to invoke nullification or use the anti-commandeering doctrine, it makes it easier and smoother if we have established legal processes in place, especially for nullification. It also keeps the state assembly honest and accountable. It is time we admit that depending on the next election to save our freedom and our liberties is not the solution. The more we count on the (s)elections to solve our problems, the more we see our freedoms and liberties suffer death by a thousand cuts. It is time for us to understand that our government is totally out of control. They have violated the Constitution; they have overstepped their authority, and we have allowed it to happen. We are now at the point where the only legal and peaceful solutions are nullification and anti-commandeering.
