TRUTH ACTION PROJECT DECLARES SEPTEMBER 11 AND ANTHRAX ATTACKS “STATE CRIMES AGAINST DEMOCRACY”

World Trade Center Towers - September 11, 2001

The Board of Directors of the Truth Action Project (TAP) voted unanimously to recognize and declare the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, along with the 2001 Anthrax attacks, as state crimes against democracy; a term, coined by political scientist Lance DeHaven-Smith, to describe a crime by individuals within government who betray their constitutional obligations in ways that undermine democratic governance and the public interest.

Originally founded as 911TAP, the Truth Action Project was created in response to public concerns surrounding the events of September 11, 2001. While the organization later expanded its focus to include a broader range of truth and accountability issues, the pursuit of justice for September 11th remains central to its mission.

TAP hosts weekly TAP Talk public forums featuring researchers, activists, authors, whistleblowers, and independent voices examining issues often overlooked or marginalized by mainstream institutions.

“TAP was born from grief and indignation at being lied to by our government and corporate leaders on a number of events; after 25 years we can say that September 11th was a false flag event to cover up a state crime,” said Chuck Fall, President of the Truth Action Project. “The evidence shows that the official explanations of September 11th are false; lying is a crime, so the American people deserve accountability, truth and justice.”

TAP notes renewed public interest in September 11th accountability efforts, including calls by former Congressman Curt Weldon for a Presidential Commission and statements by Senator Ron Johnson urging further examination of unresolved questions surrounding the 9/11 attacks.

TAP is in solidarity with Firefighters for 9/11 Truth and other firefighter-led initiatives seeking transparency and accountability. TAP further recognizes the sacrifice of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives responding to the attacks and honors the ongoing work of first responders, family members, researchers, journalists, and citizens who continue to seek answers and justice.

Positioning the September 11th attacks as state crimes against democracy represents a shift; “TAP alleges a state crime because the evidence supports the claim; our country was attacked from within. It was treason, and conspiracy to murder, and more; it wasn’t foreign terrorism by people who ‘hate our freedoms,” said Fall. “The neocons, through the Project for a New American Century, planned for a New Pearl Harbor event that would put the US on a path to “forever wars.”

“When we call for another investigation, we imply that the essential facts remain unknown,” Fall said. “Our Board believes evidence clearly shows the official narrative is false; this impels us, indeed obligates, all people with authority to act and push for justice through all available legal and constitutional channels.”

TAP maintains that public officials have a duty to investigate credible evidence of wrongdoing and ensure that no individual or institution is above the law.

TAP stands with Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, first responders, family members, public officials, civic leaders, researchers, journalists, and whistleblowers who stand strong in the pursuit of truth.

TAP supports all lawful efforts to secure accountability and justice and urges Americans to demand that our state and county prosecutors, fulfill their constitutional duty to investigate wrongdoing and uphold the rule of law.

“We need to demand justice under the framework of the Guarantee Clause of the US Constitution that holds the government responsible for defending the people from domestic and foreign violence. We need to demand government fight for justice,” said Fall. “We need the state attorney generals, state legislatures, to work together to compel accountability.”

The victims of September 11th, their families, and the American people deserve nothing less.

Justice delayed is justice denied. More than two decades after September 11th, “we, at TAP, are tasked with demanding redress for the September 11 state crimes against democracy,” said Fall. “We stand on our first amendment freedoms to speak and publish against, and seek redress for, grievous crimes.”
