The Truth Movement Can Lead on Israel - Palestine Peace Possibilities
TAP’s May 21 Tuesday Forum will consider the legacy of Israeli displacement of Palestinian people and how that has morphed into a full-on assault on the Gaza population. Alison Weir from If Americans Knew will report on the plight of the Palestinians under Israeli domination. https://ifamericansknew.org/about_us/whoweare.html
The Israeli bombardment in Gaza rises to the level of genocide and crime against humanity, given the indiscriminate bombing of residences, hospitals, and other infrastructure necessary for survival. The disproportionate Israeli retaliation for the October 7th attack by Hamas is being accomplished because Israel is allied with the USA and Western power structures.
The truth movement can make important arguments for suing the plutocracy for peace by showing the big lies that set the state up for war and militarism. Gaza is but the latest expression of the neocon policy of “forever wars” advanced after 9/11 to dispel any notions of a peace dividend given the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Solving the problem of Israeli domination over the Palestinians and creating peace in Israel so Palestinians can coexist in dignity will require contending with the forces embedded in the American national security state, as revealed in the neoconservative agenda for expanding the Anglo-American empire.
Ending domination by the power elite and putting a brake on the globalist forces working to impose techno-totalitarianism on the world is key to getting Israel to stand down from its assault on the Palestinian people. We need a peace movement that is explicitly against the plutocratic power structure and appeals broadly to the citizenry for solidarity for egalitarian principles and around reclaiming historical possibilities for peace. https://wagingnonviolence.org/2023/10/building-powerful-loving-movement-against-oppression-palestine-israel/
We are mindful of the 19th-century Zionist call to settle Palestine and that the idea of a Jewish homeland has become the bane of Palestinian existence, producing in 1948 the catastrophe, or “the Nakba,” that qualifies as Israeli independence. The Palestinian demand for the right to return to lands taken by Israel poses a counterpoint to the current annihilation of Gaza.
The Israeli bombardment of Gaza has elevated tensions in the Middle East and raised the specter of World War 3. All international treaties declaring the right of Palestinians to their own state and right of return have been obviated by the sheer destruction of the Gaza territory. The scorched earth attack on Gaza as retaliation for October 7th needs to be understood less as an expression of Zionist zeal and more as an expression of a major military power running amok with bombing intent to drive ethnic cleansing of the area as the ultimate goal.
An apt historical parallel to the Israeli assault on Gaza is the American ethnic cleansing of Native Americans in the 1830s in the infamous Trail of Tears. This involved driving out the Cherokee and other “civilized tribes” from the South East in a forced march to Oklahoma Territory west of the Mississippi. The Israelis appear to be pushing Gazans into Egypt. However, unlike the Europeans having the numerical advantage over the First Nation peoples, Israel faces off with a Palestinian population that is expanding at a faster rate than its own.
The demand for a ceasefire in Gaza needs to be elevated to a full demand for peace, equality, local sovereignty, and full respect for human rights that could be extended to surrounding countries.
A demand for peace should include a full standdown and the end of the domination of the Military Industrial Complex (MIC). Only a just peace can address the Palestinian right to dignity, to life, liberty, and happiness, as treasured by the Americans and enjoyed by the Israelis.
Finding ways to build peace in Israel and to get some justice for Israeli barbarity will require a peace plan that involves reparations being made.
The billionaires that own and control the military industries, oversee Israeli and American societies, finance the regulatory capture of the Department of Defense, and other aspects of the state need to be factored into the calculus for a peaceful solution in Israel and Palestine.
Some people will need to be arrested and tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity so we can have some semblance of justice and accountability; getting peace will require an independent body to hold a truth and reconciliation project to find a way through the Israeli/Palestinian enmity.
One of the chief tasks of the political truth community is to cut through the fog of war and show that Gaza is the latest expression of “forever wars,” a contrivance of the Neo-conservatives out to secure a project for the New American Century.
Immediately after 9/11, we were told to expect “forever wars” by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and others as the price to pay for fighting terrorism and protecting American freedom. But whose freedom do wars preserve? The people’s freedom to avoid war, or the freedom of the elites to wage war?
The 10/7 Hamas attack is not all that it appears to be. Evidence shows that the failure of the Israeli Defense Forces to stage a direct defense of the breach in the Gaza fence is like the standdown by the U.S. NORAD civil air defense on 9/11. Contrived failures of the military to defend the airspace and land border set the stage, respectively, for 9/11 and 10/7; both events were either made or allowed to happen as part of a program to foster “forever wars” and pave the way for the Anglo-American, NATO, and western alliances to be the dominant power in the Middle East.
9/11 triggered the release of the 1000-page Patriot Act, which triggered the Anthrax attack on US Senators and produced the Afghanistan war against the Taliban. Later wars followed in Iraq in 2003, then against Libya and Syria.
Now 10/7 sets the stage for the utter destruction of Gaza. In a ghoulish display of avarice, developers are already planning to build a major port out of the rubble, perhaps to develop the gas fields and stage for a new canal.
The 10/7 event was contrived to represent Hamas attackers as rapists and baby killers, which proved to be not true. Nevertheless, the story of Hamas atrocities rationalizes the utter destruction of Gaza.
This horrible claim of baby beheadings and mass rape was contrived to demonize Hamas and galvanize the Israeli people into going to war in Gaza.
Coincidentally, 10/7 attacks fortuitously interrupted national protests against the Netanyahu government for its efforts to weaken the judiciary to act as a check on the Israeli parliament.
Demanding a ceasefire and economic divestment from Israel is not enough; a peace movement needs to call out the purveyors of war.
College campus protests are largely critical of Israel for its sheer brutality and disregard for the dignity of the Palestinian people. Protesters demand a ceasefire, divestment from Israel, and ultimately an end to the war.
Ending war and getting to peace will require calling out the forces that push for war. This means highlighting the long history of military industrial influence and the geopolitical interests of the western powers. The Zionist imperative to displace Palestinians will have to be abandoned entirely if there is going to be any peace.
An Israel/Palestine peace will orient the country to the Middle East, its natural place, and build a single state of Israeli and Palestinian cities and towns, existing side by side, each free but organized along egalitarian principles. There will be freedom to travel and conduct commerce and business, all while contending with restoring good relations between Israelis and Palestinians.
We were warned about the military industrial complex a long time ago and must heed that warning today if we are to resolve the Israel-Palestine divide.
https://greenlibertycaucus.org/wp-content/uploads/End-Impunity-start-the-meme.pdfIn 1961, President Eisenhower warned the nation about the military industrial complex. That warning is as current today as it was then. The subsequent assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 and the failure to hold the CIA and others accountable for the murder created the conditions for elite impunity that led the USA into war in Vietnam, produced the Iran/CContra illegal arms deal, and produced 9/11, among other state crimes. The failure to hold anyone accountable for 9/11 produced the Federal COVID program, a Department of Defense operation that introduced a bioweapon into American society in the name of addressing a public health emergency.
TAP’s web page on the Project for a New American Century provides an expose on the Kagan family’s role as deep state operators and their role in continuity of government; their activity laid the groundwork for 9/11 and the war policy that followed. We have posted a link to the documentary A Very Heavy Agenda, created by Robby Martin. https://truthactionproject.org/pnac-the-project-for-the-new-american-century/
Reinette Senum reports on Israeli influence in her recent substack post. She shows Israeli intelligence agencies and other entities information on American domestic policing, the use of surveillance technology, and domestic protests. https://reinettesenumsfoghornexpress.substack.com/p/the-israeli-ties-that-bind-us-how?publication_id=943736&post_id=144370400&r=qbltf&triedRedirect=true
Two videos show that the 10/7 Hamas attack was a “let it happen” event. We invite participants to look at the Al Jazeera expose on the attack, which is less accusatory than the one posted by Robin Monotti on Twitter. The videos show the Israelis enabled the invasion by Hamas “terrorists.” Both videos suggest the reports of beheaded babies were not true and that Israeli helicopters actually bombed their own citizens to create the appearance of Hamas’ destructive power. https://twitter.com/robinmonotti/status/1788611530025546016?s=51&t=EFQ7Jxu07RHzwSyHxf7EZA
Finally, creating peace and inventing a post-war world in the Middle East will take thinking outside the box and imagining a new kind of society. Ultimately, the only beneficiaries of war are the purveyors of war, a plutocratic elite. Globalist elites, in Israel and in the USA and Europe, hold controlling shares in major industrial war manufacturing and will need to be forced out of power by a mass movement of the working classes, youth, elderly, and retired; all classes of people will be needed to unite to force the.001% out of the war business.
Some think an egalitarian society based on mutual aid and a decentralized power structure, held together by humanitarian and democratic values, could provide a way for Palestinians and Israelis to coexist.
John Spritzler, an egalitarian who stands with all people, especially the working classes within Israel and Palestine, advocates for removing the rich from power as a predicate for building peace. He has an argument for going egalitarian, which means society is transformed along communal principles that include a shared economy, cooperation, and mutual aid. Maybe this is what Israel needs for there to be peace with Palestine.
